The Studio by Newton's Opens
These buildings have served the community in many ways throughout the years. The original Newton's store was on Ross Island before being floated to Grand Harbour. The current building was constructed circa 1915 and has served as a meat market, grocery store, general mercantile, and more. Today, it is home to the island's hub for espresso drinks and giftware.
About Us
Artisanal Espresso Drinks and Homemade Baked Goods
When you step inside the mercantile, you'll notice the original tin ceilings and hardwood floors. Then you'll be greeted by the smell of cookies in the kitchen and the smiles of our staff waiting to serve you.

We offer a large menu of handcrafted beverages and a daily selection of grab & go lunch items. We are proud to offer gelato and frozen yogurt products by Goji's Neighbourhood Treatery, a local New Brunswick company.

Handcrafted Beverages
Our staff is talented behind the bar and eager to make a drink you'll enjoy. We are proud to serve coffee that is roasted in Halifax, NS and customized excusively for us.
Giftware
Sourcing high quality giftware is a large part of our 'behind the scenes' duties. We aim to curate shelves and displays that offer local and international gifts that are ready for giving.
Atmosphere
We take pride in our welcoming atmosphere that offers both indoor and patio seating. The music is light and the mood is bright. Once here, you'll have a hard time leaving.

Our Fusion Paint line and Boredom Buster kits are now available at the Mercantile for your convenience.

Groups of 8 guests or more are welcome to use the Studio space for painting at no additional charge when purchasing DIY kits. Please inquire regarding availability.
